The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially opened Dundee's V&A Museum, Scotland's first design museum. The official opening marks the beginning of a very exciting year for V&A Dundee, with upcoming exhibitions on videogames, robots and the future of design.
V&A Dundee opened in September 2018 and has attracted more than 380,000 visitors. It was designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and is the centrepiece of the city's £1 billion regeneration project.
It's the first ever dedicated museum in Scotland and the only other V&A museum anywhere in the world outside London. V&A Dundee provides a place of inspiration, discovery and learning through its mission to enrich lives through design. It's the first time and in one place, V&A Dundee explores Scotland's design heritage - its past, present and future.
V&A Dundee is only a 30-minute drive from Hawkswood Country Estate.
