Hawkswood Country Estate is set in the picturesque hamlet of Peat Inn in Fife, only about 10 minutes from St Andrews.

We offer three luxury self-catering lodges on the estate:

• Hawkswood House – sleeps up to 10 persons
• The Roundel – sleeps 10 persons + 2 (adults or children) on a sofa bed
• Bowhill House – sleeps 10 persons + 2 (children only) on a sofa bed as this is located in bedroom 3

Yes — you can book the estate exclusively (all three lodges) for up to around 34 guests. This is ideal for large family reunions, weddings or corporate retreats. Read more about Exclusive Use.

Yes – we have dog-friendly options. Please refer to the Dog Friendly Retreats section for specific lodges, restrictions (how many dogs, type, size) and any additional cleaning fees or rules.

Absolutely. Both Hawkswood House and The Roundel have private short-game areas, and the estate has a 270-yard driving range which all properties have access to.

Additionally, there is a dedicated Golf Concierge Service which can help book tee times, arrange transport, equipment hire and coaching.

Yes — the estate offers packages for weddings (including exclusive use of accommodations, welcome hampers, photo-friendly grounds) and for other celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events).

Yes — families are very much welcome. Hawkswood House sleeps up to 10 guests, while The Roundel and Bowhill House both sleep up to 12 guests using additional sofa beds. There are communal rooms, large dining spaces and activities designed for groups.

Please ensure that children are supervised, particularly around outdoor areas, the driving range and garden/hydro-spa zones.

Yes — extra services are available. For example, private chefs, catering for events, transport to golf courses, etc are offered. See Services for more on extras.

Yes – gift vouchers are available and multiple gift vouchers can be used at once.

Yes, each bedroom has a hairdryer.

Each property has a coffee machine which takes ground coffee. You don’t need to bring any filters as our machines have built in washable filters.

All transport must be booked advance prior to your arrival. Please email us with your requirements to check availability.

Yes we have fibre broadband. The access code to each property is in the guest information book located on the kitchen worktop. All information you require about the property you are staying in is in this book.

You can simply relax in the estate or practice your golf game at the driving range or short game area.

Further afield, there is a lot to do. In St Andrews you can:

• Visit the ruins of St Andrews Castle and the magnificent St Andrews Cathedral.
• Play on one of the town’s seven golf courses, including the famous Old Course, New Course, and Jubilee Course.
• Learn about the history of the sport at the World Golf Museum.
• Take a stroll or jog along the expansive West Sands Beach, known for its appearance in the film Chariots of Fire.
• Visit the St Andrews Botanic Garden or the St Andrews Aquarium, browse the independent boutiques, and dine at local restaurants.

Things to do elsewhere in Fife include:

• Visit Craigtoun Country Park, which features a boating lake, a miniature railway, crazy golf, and an adventure playground.
• Sample local spirits at the nearby Kingsbarns Distillery or Darnley’s Gin Distillery.
• Explore the 14th-century Kellie Castle & Garden or the Edwardian Hill of Tarvit Mansion.
• Walk a section of the Fife Coastal Path and experience the region’s beautiful coastal scenery and charming fishing villages.
• Take a boat trip to the Isle of May Nature Reserve to spot a wealth of wildlife, including puffins and seals (seasonal).
• Visit the Scottish Fisheries Museum, located in the picturesque village of Anstruther.
• See deer, wolves, wildcats and more at the Scottish Deer Centre.
