The Hawkswood approach
Most venues offer a room for the day and leave you to sort the rest. Hawkswood Country Estate is different: book the estate exclusively and every lodge, every bedroom and every acre of grounds is yours for the weekend, not just the afternoon. Guests arrive on the Friday, settle in, and the wedding unfolds around them, whether that means walking down the aisle in the grounds or heading off together to one of the beautiful venues in St Andrews.
Two ways to marry at Hawkswood
Both routes start and end in the same place: an estate that belongs to you and your guests alone for the weekend.
Hold your ceremony at Hawkswood itself. A marquee is raised in the grounds, with the surrounding Fife countryside as a backdrop for your photographs, so there's no need for guests to travel between a separate ceremony venue and where they're staying.
Prefer a ceremony somewhere else in the St Andrews area? Keep Hawkswood as home base. We work with a number of partner venues nearby, and can arrange transport so the whole party travels together and returns to the same lodges each night.
Where everyone stays
Hawkswood House, The Roundel and Bowhill House sit together on the estate. Book all three and you have sole use of the whole property, sleeping up to 34 guests between you.

A typical stay
Every wedding is planned around you, but most exclusive-use weekends follow a similar shape.
The wedding party arrives across all three lodges, welcome hampers waiting, and settles in ahead of the big day.
Hair, make-up and final preparations, with the whole estate free to spread out into, plus hydro-spa time to settle any nerves.
Vows exchanged in the marquee on the grounds, or a short transfer to a partner venue such as Kinkell Byre, with photography either way.
Everyone regroups on the estate for dinner and the evening celebration, private chefs and all.
No rush to check out: a final morning on the estate together before the wedding party heads home.
