Welcome, American Golfers
The Golf Tour Is Only the Beginning
You did not fly across the Atlantic to spend every waking hour on a fairway - and you did not come this far to spend the rest of it in a hotel lobby. Fife is home to some of the most stunning history, hospitality and scenery in the British Isles. Whether you have an afternoon between rounds, a designated rest day, or non-golfing members of your party, the experiences below turn a great golf tour into the trip your group will be telling stories about for years. Every one is within a short drive of Hawkswood Country Estate - your private, five-star base camp ten minutes from St Andrews.
Sharpen Your Game On-Estate
Before you tee it up at the Old Course, warm up on Hawkswood's own practice facilities, with private coaching from one of Scotland's best.

Lessons with Peter Whiteford
Peter Whiteford - a former European Tour professional and current coach of the Fife Men's County Team - is available exclusively to Hawkswood guests for one-to-one lessons and group clinics. Whether you want to fine-tune your wedge play before the Road Hole bunker or talk through wind strategy for a links course, an hour with Peter is the most valuable warm-up money can buy this side of the Atlantic.

The R&A World Golf Museum
Set directly beside the 18th green of the Old Course, the R&A World Golf Museum tells more than 600 years of the game's story. The Learning Room has replica hickory clubs and a mini putting green to try, and the rooftop restaurant, The Niblick, looks out over the West Sands and the first tee. Allow one to two hours.
